Handmade Swords

Japanese handmade swords differ in size, shape, function, and method of manufacture, but the most commonly known types are the katana, wakizashi, tachi, and nagemaki.

Each sword blade has a unique profile that depends on the swordsmith and method of manufacture.

However, in the modern market, the main difference between handmade and non-handmade swords is that handmade swords tend to be of higher quality, and are manufactured to be functional rather than only for display.
